How binary commissions are calculated

Pairing, weaker-leg volume, carry-forward and caps, with a worked example.

The two legs

A binary plan gives every distributor exactly two frontline positions: a left leg and a right leg. Everyone who joins under you, whether you sponsored them or they were placed by your upline, lands in one of those two legs. Volume generated anywhere in a leg rolls up to you as that leg's group volume.

Because width is capped at two, depth is unlimited. A single leg can contain thousands of people, and all of their commissionable volume counts toward that leg.

Pairing and the weaker leg

The core binary bonus is paid on pairs, or cycles. At the end of each payout cycle the engine compares left-leg volume to right-leg volume. The smaller number is the weaker leg, and the bonus is a percentage of that weaker-leg volume (commonly 8 to 12 percent).

A 1:1 pair ratio means every unit of volume on the weak side pairs with one unit on the strong side. Some plans use 1:2 or 2:1 ratios so that the strong leg must be twice the weak leg before a pair forms. DIRSL lets you set the ratio per plan.

Carry-forward

Whatever volume is not paired is carried forward to the next cycle. If you have 1,000 left and 400 right, 400 pairs and 600 left-leg volume carries forward. This is why binary leaders talk about building a power leg: it stores future income.

Carry-forward can be unlimited or expire after a set number of cycles. Expiry, called flush-out, protects the company from paying on volume that accumulates for years.

Caps

Binary plans pay deep, so almost every one includes a daily or weekly cap per position (for example, $5,000 per week). Volume above the cap is flushed. Higher ranks usually unlock higher caps, and many plans allow a distributor to hold multiple positions to earn beyond a single cap.

RankWeekly capPair %
Associate$1,0008%
Silver$3,00010%
Gold$7,50010%
Diamond$20,00012%

Worked example

Priya has 4,200 PV on her left leg and 3,100 PV on her right leg this week. Her pair ratio is 1:1 and her rank pays 10 percent on the weaker leg with a $3,000 cap.

Weaker leg is 3,100 PV. Bonus = 3,100 × 10% = $310, well under the cap. Carry-forward: 1,100 PV on the left. Next week she starts with 1,100 left and 0 right.

If Priya also qualifies for a matching bonus (say 20 percent of her personally sponsored members' pairing bonuses), the engine computes those after the pairing step and adds them to the same wallet credit, with separate line items for audit.

What DIRSL configures

Pair ratio, percentage per rank, cap per rank, carry-forward expiry, qualification (for example, one active member on each leg), matching-bonus generations, and whether unpaired volume counts toward rank. Change any of these in the plan builder and run a simulation against last cycle before publishing.
