Overview
Party plan is a sales model, not just a compensation structure. Consultants host events (in-home, pop-up or virtual on social media) where guests experience and buy products. A host, usually a customer, invites guests and earns host rewards (free or discounted product) based on party sales. Consultants earn retail commission on party sales plus a team commission, typically unilevel-style, on consultants they sponsor.
The model dominates cosmetics, kitchenware, home decor, fashion and candles because it combines demonstration, social proof and urgency. Modern party plan is largely virtual: Facebook groups, live streams and shoppable links.
DIRSL includes event management, host rewards, guest ordering links, party-close workflows and team commissions so the whole lifecycle runs in one place.
How it works
- 01
Book a party
A consultant schedules an event with a host, physical or virtual, and gets a shareable party link.
- 02
Guests order
Guests buy through the party link; all orders are tagged to the party.
- 03
Party closes
At close, party sales are totalled. Host rewards (credits, half-price items, free gifts) are calculated and issued.
- 04
Consultant commission
The consultant earns retail commission (20–35%) on party sales plus booking bonuses when guests book their own parties.
- 05
Team commission
Sponsored consultants' sales roll up into a unilevel team commission with rank-based percentages.
Worked example
One virtual party and a small team
- Party sales: $1,400
- Retail commission 25%
- Host rewards: 10% in product credit + 1 half-price item
- 2 bookings from the party: $25 booking bonus each
- Team: 6 consultants, level 1 team sales $9,000 at 4%, level 2 $12,000 at 2%
The host separately receives $140 in product credit plus one half-price item, funded from the company's margin, not from commissions.
